USIMUN
You’ve reached the wiki of the University of Southern Indiana Model United Nations organization. We attend two major regional conferences per year, including American Model United Nations (Mid-November in Chicago) and Midwest Model United Nations (February in St. Louis). Model UN conferences offer a wide variety of simulations. Students can participate in United Nations councils and committees, like the General Assembly or Security Council, as well as other world organizations, such as the World Bank or the World Health Organization.
The students serve as assignment writing service and “representatives” of a particular country. Placing themselves in the mindset of the assigned country, they vote, discuss, write resolutions, and act as the country’s representatives would act. Representatives gain valuable experience in public speaking, debate, research and collaborative writing. Model UN conferences are a uniquely stimulating and challenging way to put your talents to work.
Meetings
Meetings are held every Thursday at 6PM, in Orr Center room 2039 (Last Update: Fall, 2006). During our meetings, we discuss what to expect at conference and perform research in University computer labs.
